Opdyke West (say "Oh-Pih-Dyke") is a small town in Hockley County, Texas, United States. In 2020, about 220 people lived there.
The town got its name from a nearby community called Opdyke. This older community was started in 1925. It might have been named after Charles W. Opdyke, who worked for the railroad. Another idea is that it was named after the family of W. A. Dykes. His family set up the first cotton gin in the area by 1937. Opdyke West officially became a town in 1984.

Texas State Highway 114 goes through the northern part of the town. If you drive west on this highway for about 4 miles (6 km), you will reach Levelland. Levelland is the main town in Hockley County. If you drive east for about 26 miles (42 km), you will get to Lubbock.
