The Order of Cisneros (called Orden de Cisneros in Spanish) is a special award from Spain. It was created in 1944. This award is named after a famous person from history, Cardinal Francisco Jiménez de Cisneros. It was mainly given out during the time when Francisco Franco led Spain. The award recognized people for their political achievements. Today, it is no longer given out, but it still officially exists.

History of the Order
The Order of Cisneros was started by Francisco Franco on March 8, 1944. Franco was the leader of Spain for many years. The rules for the award were changed in 1976. After that, it was only given to politicians for their good work. The rules were changed again in 1977. The award has not been given to anyone since September 1977. However, the Spanish government has not officially ended it.
Design and Symbols
The Order of Cisneros has a unique design. It features the Eagle of Saint John on top of a red Maltese cross. The Maltese cross is a symbol often used in awards.
Around the cross, you can see two groups of five arrows. At the bottom of the eagle, there is a yoke. These symbols, the yoke and arrows, were important. They were first used by the Catholic Monarchs of Spain many centuries ago. Later, they were also used by the Falangist movement in Spain.

The Order of Cisneros has eight different levels, or "classes." These classes show how important the award is. The highest level is the Grand Collar, and the lowest is the Gold Medal.
