Ormas is a small, quiet place in Indiana, United States. It's what we call an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of two different counties: Whitley County and Noble County.
The Story of Ormas
Ormas was started a long time ago, in the year 1856. The community was named to honor an early settler, a person named Ormas Jones, who helped establish the area.
For a while, Ormas even had its own post office! It opened in 1880, helping people send and receive mail. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1904.
