Orr's Island is a beautiful island located in Casco Bay, which is part of the Atlantic Ocean. This island is found within the town of Harpswell, Maine, in the United States. It's part of a group of islands, like a chain, with Sebascodegan Island (also called Great Island) to its north. To its south is Bailey Island, which you can reach by crossing the famous Bailey Island (or Cribstone) Bridge.

Orr's Island is connected to Great Island by a bridge. You can also get to the mainland town of Brunswick from Orr's Island using Route 24 over the Gurnet Bridge. A part of Bowdoin College has a special center on Orr's Island. This center studies the coast and covers about 118 acres.

Island Services and Utilities

Just like the rest of Harpswell, Orr's Island gets its electricity from Central Maine Power. The island does not have a public water system or a public sewer system. This means that most homes on the island get their water from drilled wells. They also use special underground systems called septic systems to handle wastewater. For internet and phone services, residents can choose from providers like Cribstone Communications, Consolidated Communications, and Comcast.
