Osmar Ibáñez Barba, born on June 5, 1988, is a Spanish professional football player. He is usually called Osmar. He plays as a defensive midfielder or a central defender. Currently, he plays for Seoul E-Land FC.

Osmar's Football Journey
Starting at Racing Santander
Osmar grew up in Santoña, Spain. He learned to play football in the youth system of his local club, Racing de Santander. He played well during a loan to CD Salmantino. After that, he returned to Racing Santander's reserve team.
In the 2008–09 season, he played for Racing B in a league called Segunda División B. He was the top scorer for his team that year.
On November 8, 2009, Osmar played his first game for Racing Santander's main team. This was in La Liga, Spain's top football league. He became a full member of the main team for the 2010–11 season.
Playing in Thailand with Buriram United
On July 25, 2012, Osmar moved to Thailand to play for Buriram United F.C.. He signed a contract for two and a half years. He played his first game for them on August 1.
In his first year with Buriram United, he helped them win two important tournaments: the Thai FA Cup and the Toyota League Cup.
In 2013, Osmar played in the AFC Champions League for the first time. He was even the team captain in a game against Vegalta Sendai and scored a goal. Buriram United became the first Thai team in ten years to reach the knockout rounds of this big Asian competition. Osmar was their top scorer in the tournament with three goals.
Becoming a Star at FC Seoul
On December 31, 2013, Osmar moved to South Korea to join FC Seoul. He signed a three-year deal. He was the first Spanish football player ever to play in South Korea.
Before the 2015 season, Osmar was chosen as the team's vice-captain. He played in every game and every minute that season. This set a new record for a foreign player in the K League 1, which is South Korea's top league.
For the 2016 season, Osmar became the main captain of FC Seoul. He was the first foreign player in the club's history to be captain. He helped his team win the national league title that year. This made him the first Spanish player to win the K League 1.
In 2018, Osmar played for Cerezo Osaka in Japan on a loan. After that, he signed a new three-year contract with FC Seoul.
Osmar left FC Seoul at the end of the 2023 season. He played a total of 344 games for the club, scoring 25 goals. He holds the record for the most games played by a foreign player for FC Seoul.
New Team: Seoul E-Land FC
On January 10, 2024, Osmar joined Seoul E-Land FC. This team plays in the K League 2, which is South Korea's second-highest football league.
