Ossipee is a small town located in the northwestern part of Alamance County in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It's one of the newer towns in the state, as it officially became an incorporated town on December 9, 2002. Before that, it was part of a larger area called Altamahaw-Ossipee. Ossipee is part of the Piedmont Triad area, which is a group of cities and towns that are close to each other.
