  • The Eagle: The eagle at the top of the coat of arms represents the Counts of Arnstein. They were important rulers in the Ruppin area during the 13th century.
  • The Fleur-de-lis: On the left side, you'll see a fleur-de-lis. This flower symbol stands for the Counts von Plotho. They were a family from the Wendish people, who are a Slavic minority group in Germany.
  • The Mitre: The hat-like symbol on the right is called a mitre. It represents the city of Wittstock. Bishop Heinrich I made Wittstock an important religious center. It became the capital of the Havelberg diocese, which is a church district.
