Otis "Jet" Johnson (born February 3, 1932) was an amazing American athlete. He was known for his incredible speed in sprint races. Otis was a very important part of the relay teams at Morgan State College. He trained under a famous coach named Edward P. Hurt.

College Star
From 1951 to 1955, Otis went to Morgan State College. While there, he became a key player on their track and field teams. He was especially good at relay races, where a team of runners passes a baton.
A Champion on the Track
Otis Johnson was a true champion. He won the national outdoor championship three years in a row, from 1953 to 1955. He also won the famous Penn Relays three times. The Penn Relays is one of the oldest and biggest track and field events in the United States. Winning it multiple times shows how talented he was!
The Flying Four
Otis Johnson was part of a very special team called The Flying Four. This was an American college team that competed in the 4 × 400 metres relay. This relay race is 400 meters long for each of the four runners. Being part of "The Flying Four" meant he was one of the best college sprinters of his time.
