Otterville is a very small community in Buchanan County, Iowa, in the United States. It's located northwest of a larger town called Independence. An "unincorporated community" means it's a group of homes and buildings that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
History of Otterville
Otterville was started in the 1800s. Even though people lived there, it never officially became a town with its own government. Today, Otterville is still a small community. It's located about halfway between the towns of Independence and Littleton. In 1902, Otterville had a population of 94 people. By 1925, its population had grown slightly to 100 people.
