OutNumbered! is an exciting educational computer game that came out in 1990. It was made by The Learning Company for both MS-DOS and Macintosh computers. This game is for kids aged seven to fourteen. It helps you learn important math skills and how to solve problems in a fun way!

How to Play OutNumbered!

OutNumbered! is an adventure game where you move through different places. Your main goal is to stop the Master of Mischief. He is a sneaky villain from many Super Solvers games. This time, he wants to take over a TV and radio station! You must stop him before midnight.

Finding the Master of Mischief

To find the Master of Mischief, you need to figure out which room he is hiding in. You do this by comparing patterns. Each room has its own pattern. The Master of Mischief's hiding spot also has a special pattern. To get these patterns, you visit each room. In every room, you solve a math puzzle. Solving the puzzle gives you a piece of the pattern.

Meeting Telly the Robot

As you play, you might run into the Master of Mischief's robot, named Telly. Telly tries to stop you! He might crash into you or throw things like discs, sound waves, or lightning bolts. If you zap Telly with your zapper when his screen is red, you get a chance to earn a clue. This clue helps you find the Master of Mischief's secret room.

Making Your Guess

Once you have all the pattern pieces for the Master of Mischief's room, and for each other room, it's time to guess! You compare the clues you got from Telly with the patterns for each room. If you guess the correct room where the Master of Mischief is hiding, you win! You also get bonus points based on how much time and zapper energy you have left. These points add to your total score.

If you guess wrong, or if you don't get enough clues by midnight, you lose the game. Your total score will not change.

Getting Better at the Game

The more games you win, the higher your total score becomes. When your score reaches certain amounts, you will move up in rank. This also makes the game a bit harder. The rules for matching patterns might change too, making it more challenging and fun!
