Outback 8 was a TV show that aired in 2008. It was shown on Network Ten in Australia and BBC in the UK. The show followed eight young people, four from the UK and four from Australia. They lived and learned at an Agricultural Training College in Longreach, Queensland. The series had 8 episodes, starting on September 22, 2008.

Learning Outback Skills

Outback 8 was all about teaching young people how to work on a big farm in the Australian outback. The goal was for them to become skilled jackaroos (for boys) and jillaroos (for girls). These are trainees who learn to manage livestock and land.

The show prepared them for a big challenge: moving 200 cattle across a huge area of land. To do this, they learned many important skills. These included riding horses, shearing sheep, and even checking if cattle were pregnant. They also learned how to survive in the bush, set up camp, and gather cattle.
