Péruwelz is a city and municipality in Wallonia, Belgium. It is located in the province of Hainaut. People in Péruwelz speak French, but the local dialect is called Picard.
As of January 1, 2018, about 17,113 people lived in Péruwelz. The city covers an area of 60.56 square kilometers. This means there are about 280 people living in each square kilometer. Péruwelz is in Western Hainaut, also known as Picardy Wallonia. It is also very close to France and the forest of Bon-Secours.

Louis Constant Wairy: Napoleon's Valet
Louis Constant Wairy was born in Péruwelz. He became the chief valet, or personal assistant, to Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon was a famous French emperor.
Constant Wairy wrote detailed books about his time at the French Imperial Court. These books share many stories about his experiences with Napoleon.

Natural Springs and Fountains
Péruwelz is known for its many natural springs. These springs are places where water flows out of the ground. Some of these springs have beautiful fountains built around them.
- Dubuisson-Copin's Fountain: This fountain is in the communal gardens, which were created in 1912. It is the most popular fountain in the area.
- De la Ferté Fountain: Another well-known fountain in Péruwelz.
- Du Flassart Fountain: This fountain has been in a small public square since 1898.
- Jaunay-Clan Fountain: This fountain is special because it is made from stones from Jaunay-Clan. Jaunay-Clan is a town in France that is twinned with Péruwelz.
- Du Maréchal Fountain: This fountain has had many names over the years. It was named "Du Maréchal fountain" in 1887 after it was repaired.
- Tanchou Fountain: One of the other natural springs with a fountain.
