P.J. Akeeagok, whose full name is Pauloosie Jamesie Akeeagok, was born on November 5, 1984. He is an Inuk politician from Canada. In 2021, he became the sixth person to hold the job of premier of Nunavut. The Premier is like the leader of the government for the Nunavut territory. He was chosen to be a member of the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut in the 2021 election. This means he helps make laws for Nunavut. He represents the area called Iqaluit-Niaqunnguu.
Before he became a politician in the Legislative Assembly, he was the president of the Qikiqtani Inuit Association. He left that job in August 2021 to get ready for the election.

Akeeagok was elected to the Legislative Assembly in the 2021 election. This election helps choose who will represent different parts of Nunavut. On November 17, 2021, he was chosen to become the Premier of Nunavut. He won against the person who was premier before him, Joe Savikataaq.
In November 2024, another politician named Solomon Malliki suggested a special vote. This vote was to see if other politicians still supported Akeeagok as premier. Some people felt he wasn't talking enough with other politicians. They also felt the environment in the legislature was difficult. Akeeagok kept his job as premier. Ten politicians voted to support him, and eight voted against him. All the cabinet members and three other politicians supported him.
