Pablo Motos Burgos, born on August 31, 1965, is a well-known Spanish comedian, writer, and TV host. He is most famous for creating and hosting El Hormiguero, a very popular Spanish television show.

Pablo Motos is the son of Amelia Burgos, who sometimes appeared on his show El Hormiguero. She passed away on December 11, 2018. When he was younger, Pablo completed his military service in Ceuta. During this time, he also worked as a receptionist in a military building.

Pablo's Career Journey

Starting in Radio

Pablo Motos began his career as a radio host. He worked at Radio Nacional in Utiel. Later, he moved to Onda Cero in Valencia. There, he hosted and directed shows like Aquí hay más de uno. He also worked on Mareando la perdiz and Hacia el dos mil.

From 2002 to 2007, he hosted No somos nadie on M80 Radio. This morning show was very successful. Pablo and his team later decided to focus completely on El Hormiguero.

On television, Pablo Motos presented Megacine on Canal Nou. This was a local channel in Valencia. He also helped create El club de la comedia, writing scripts for its first three years. He was also a writer and producer for La noche... con Fuentes y cia.

From 2006 to 2011, he hosted and directed El Hormiguero on the channel Cuatro. At first, it was a weekly show on Sunday evenings. Later, it became a daily show, airing Monday through Thursday. In 2011, El Hormiguero moved to Antena 3. It is now called El Hormiguero 3.0 and is one of the most-watched shows in Spain.

In 2007, because El Hormiguero was so popular, Pablo hosted the New Year's Eve show on Cuatro. He was joined by his famous puppet ants, Trancas and Barrancas. He also helped start Cuatro's coverage of the UEFA Euro 2008 football tournament.

Music and Theatre

Pablo Motos has also been involved in music. In 1993, he helped write the song Sabed amigos. This song won the Benidorm International Song Festival. He also worked with the singer Melendi on his song Marco. The money from this song went to help people with Cystic Fibrosis. Melendi often appears as a guest on El Hormiguero.

In theatre, Pablo has directed scripts and written for comedies like Cinco mujeres.com. He also worked on the Spanish version of The Seven Year Itch. He even acted in a play called Entre fuerte y flojo.

Advertising and Production

Pablo Motos has appeared in many TV ads. He has been the voice for Coca-Cola and McDonald's. He has also advertised Visa credit cards and Fujitsu air conditioning.

In 2008, Pablo started his own production company called 7yAcción. He created it with producer Jorge Salvador. This company produces El Hormiguero. They have also created other successful shows. Pablo Motos has lent his voice to movies. He voiced a doll in the Spanish version of Toy Story 3. Personal Life

Pablo Motos was married once before. That marriage ended in the 1980s. He later married Laura Llopis. They met while working in radio in Valencia. They have been together for over thirty years. Laura and her children from a previous relationship, Laura and Cristina Correa, both work on El Hormiguero.
