Paboo & Mojies is a fun animated TV show from 2012. It was made by companies in South Korea and Japan. The show is based on popular toys and a franchise with the same name.

This series is mostly for young children, especially those in preschool. Its main goal is to help them learn basic English words and letters. The whole show is built around the English alphabet. It first aired in Korea on KBS1 and later in Japan. There are 52 episodes in total.

The Story of Paboo & Mojies

The show follows a young, curious panda boy named Paboo. He lives in a magical place called Mojies Town. One day, Paboo finds a special book high up in the Moji Tree. He decides to get it.

When Paboo opens the book, a magical fairy named Pappy pops out! Pappy tells Paboo all about the book. It's called the Mojires Book. This book holds "Magic Words" that can help Paboo and his friends in any situation. Now, Paboo and his friends go on adventures. They explore their quirky and imaginative world. With Pappy's help, they solve problems and discover new Magic Words.

Main Characters

Paboo (パブー, Pabū)
Voiced by: Mika Itō
Paboo is the main character of the show. He is a curious and fun-loving panda boy. He loves going on adventures and exploring with his friends. Paboo always keeps the Mojies book in his pocket. When there's a problem, he calls Pappy to find the magic word. Paboo is linked to the letter P.
Puppy (パピー, Papī)
Voiced by: Kana Matsumiya
Pappy is a friendly fairy who lives inside the Mojires book. He appears whenever Paboo takes out the book. Pappy helps by finding the right magic word to solve problems. He didn't remember where he came from at first. Later, it's revealed he once lived with the Goddess in Fairy World.
Rosie (ロージー, Rōjī)
Voiced by: Maika Takai
Rosie is Paboo's best friend. She is a female rabbit who wears a colorful rainbow bow. Rosie loves flowers very much. Sometimes, she can be a little bit short-tempered. Rosie is linked to the letter R.
David (デビッド, Debiddo)
Voiced by: Hitomi Yamano
David is another one of Paboo's close friends. He is a male dog who wears a blue hoodie with a doughnut design. David is linked to the letter D.
Emma (エマ, Ema)
Voiced by: Ayumi Tsuji
Emma is Rosie's best friend. She is a female elephant who often has an eggshell on her head. Emma is linked to the letter E.
Zorro (ゾロ, Zoro)
Voiced by: Michael Shitanda
Zorro is a male zebra and another one of Paboo's good friends. He often pretends his carrot is a sword, though he sometimes eats it! Hanna has a crush on him. Zorro is linked to the letter Z.
Peter (ピーター, Pītā)
Voiced by: Michiru Satou
Peter is the main "bad guy" of the series. He is a male pig who tries to steal the Mojies book from Paboo. Sometimes Peter bullies others. But other times, he joins Paboo and his friends to help with their problems. In one episode, Peter actually got the Mojies book, but Paboo got it back!
Peggy (ペギー, Pegī)
Voiced by: Hina Murakami
Peggy is Peter's sister. She often helps him try to get the Mojies book.

  • Oliver: A male orangutan who owns a toy shop.
  • Quincy: A female quail who loves flowers, like Rosie. She claims to be a queen.
  • Steve: A male snake who wears sunglasses and owns a sweets shop.
  • Tommy: A male tiger who is adventurous.
  • Uno: A male unicorn who owns an umbrella shop.
  • Venus: A girl vulture who is a classmate. Her favorite instrument is the violin.
  • Walter: A male whale who lives in Mojies Town's waters.
  • Xeno: A male fox who owns an instrument shop. His favorite instrument is the xylophone.
  • York: A female yak who lives on a farm and makes yogurt.

Media and Music

The Anime Series

The Paboo & Mojies TV show aired in Japan on BS Fuji from April 2, 2012, to March 30, 2013. In Korea, it was shown on KBS1 from May 5, 2012, to May 18, 2013. Each episode is about 11 minutes long, and there are 52 episodes in total. The Japanese version also had a live educational segment called Mojires & YOU. After the series finished airing in Korea, all the episodes were uploaded to the show's official YouTube channel.

Music from the Show

The music for Paboo & Mojies was created by Shīki Yoshizumi and Kazuya Nishioka, with help from Snowmobile's. The opening song is called "DA・BI・DA・GO!" and is sung by Shoko Haida. The ending song is titled Mojimojimo~jimoji (モジモジモ〜ジモジ) and is sung by mao.

Toys and Learning Tools

Paboo & Mojies was the first time Daewon Media and Sega Sammy Holdings worked together. Because of this, many toys and educational tools were released while the show was on TV. Some of these toys were also made by Takara Tomy. These toys helped children learn English words and letters, just like the show.
