History of Pacific

Pacific became its own town in 1854. Before that, it was part of the nearby city of Portage. The first person elected to a public office in Pacific was N.H. Wood. He owned a lot of land in the area.

Swan Lake Wildlife Area

A large part of the town, over 2,000 acres (about 8 square kilometers), is owned by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. This land is mostly made up of the Swan Lake Wildlife Area. It's a special place for nature and wildlife.
