History of Pacific East Mall
When the Mall Opened
The Pacific East Mall first opened its doors in 1998. It was built in a part of Richmond called the Richmond Annex neighborhood. This area is very close to the cities of El Cerrito and Albany.
What Was There Before
Before it became a mall, the building was home to a furniture store called Breuner's. The developers, Pacific Infinity Co. Inc., transformed the space into the vibrant shopping center we see today.

The biggest store at Pacific East Mall is a large 99 Ranch Supermarket. This supermarket sells many different kinds of Asian groceries and products. Besides the supermarket, the mall has lots of other places to explore.

The mall is located along Pierce Street. This street runs right next to Interstate 80, which is a major highway. It's also close to Interstate 580. The easiest way to get to the mall by car is from Central Avenue, which connects to both freeways and to San Pablo Avenue.
Public Transportation Options
If you prefer to use public transport, AC Transit bus line 80 has stops nearby. These bus stops are located on both Pierce Street and Central Avenue, making it easy to reach the mall without a car.
