The pale-vented thrush (Turdus obsoletus) is a type of bird that belongs to the Turdidae family, which includes many well-known thrushes. This bird gets its name from its pale-colored belly.

Where the Pale-vented Thrush Lives

This interesting bird can be found in several countries in Central and South America. Its home includes Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, and Peru.

Natural Homes of the Thrush

The pale-vented thrush prefers to live in certain types of environments. Its favorite places are:

  • Subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests: These are warm, wet forests found in low-lying areas, often with lots of rain.
  • Subtropical or tropical moist montane forests: These are also warm and wet, but they are found in mountainous regions.
  • Heavily degraded former forest: This means the bird can also adapt to areas where forests used to be, but have been changed or partly cleared by human activity.

Conservation Status

The pale-vented thrush is currently listed as "Least Concern" (LC) by the IUCN. This means that, for now, there are enough of these birds in the wild, and they are not considered to be at risk of disappearing.
