Palm, Inc. facts for kids
Palm, Inc. was an American computer company. It was famous for making small handheld computers, often called personal digital assistants (PDAs), and later early smartphones.
Many of Palm's devices had a special feature called Graffiti. This was a part of the screen where you could write words or numbers using a special pen. The device could then understand what you wrote. Palm computers were great for storing contacts, addresses, notes, and many other things.
Another cool feature was Hotsync. This allowed your Palm device to connect to your personal computer. It would then update all your information, making sure everything was the same on both devices. This was very useful for keeping your contacts and notes organized.
On April 28, 2010, a big computer company called Hewlett-Packard (HP) announced that it would buy Palm for about $1.4 billion.
