Palmar is a small community, also called a barrio, located in the municipality of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 1,743 people lived in this quiet, rural area.
A Look at Palmar's Past
After the Spanish–American War, Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States in 1898. This made Puerto Rico a U.S. territory.
In 1899, the United States government counted the people living in Puerto Rico. They found that 700 people lived in Palmar at that time.
