Pamela Andrea Díaz Saldías (born in Puerto Montt, Chile, on February 26, 1981) is a famous Chilean model and TV star. People often call her "La Fiera," which means The Beast, because of her strong personality on television.
Pamela Díaz's TV Career
Pamela Díaz started her journey in television in 1996. She took part in a beauty contest on a TV show called Venga Conmigo on Canal 13. In 1999, she became more widely known after placing second in the Miss Mundo Chile beauty pageant. This helped her begin her career in TV. She then joined a popular youth program called Mekano until the year 2000.
After this, Pamela became very popular in Chile. She appeared in TV ads for a beer brand called Morenita. She also started doing photo shoots for magazines and websites. She even worked as a model for a TV show about the Viña del Mar Festival, called La Movida del Festival.
Reality TV Shows
On May 10, 2005, Pamela joined a reality show on Canal 13 called La Granja VIP. In this show, she and 13 other people lived on a farm. They had to take care of animals and grow their own food for over three months. During the first week, she had some arguments with other people on the show. Because of this, the Chilean newspapers started calling her "La Fiera Vip" (The Beast VIP). Pamela was the first person to be voted off the show. However, she came back later but was eliminated again soon after.
After La Granja VIP, Pamela worked as a commentator on a morning show on Canal 13. Later, she joined Chilevisión as a panelist on a celebrity news show called Sálvese Quien Pueda (SQP). On this show, Pamela became known for being part of many TV discussions and news stories.
In 2006, she left SQP after an argument with the show's producer. Even so, Pamela continued to work for Chilevisión. She starred in a "docu-reality" series called Diary of a Bride. This show followed all the preparations for her wedding to Manuel Neira. Their wedding took place on December 15, 2006, and was shown live on TV in Chile.
Pamela Díaz became known in other countries too. She took part in a fashion show in Germany during the 2006 World Cup. There, she walked the runway with other famous international models.
In April 2009, she returned to TV on Telecanal with a show called Just Them. This program was on every weekday and talked about topics that interested women.
Later, Canal 13 asked her to join a new reality show called 1910. At first, she said no because of money and other work. But Canal 13 offered her more money, so she joined the show for 20 days.
In 2010, she worked as a commentator on Canal 13's morning shows. She also hosted a show about the Viña del Mar Festival. Later, she moved to Mega channel. She was a panelist on a show called Look Who's Talking.
In 2012, Pamela was a contestant on the TV show Fiebre de Baile Famosos en Peligro. She won the competition with a lot of support from her fans, getting 57% of the votes.
