Panago is a popular Canadian pizza company. It delivers and offers takeout pizza. The company has about 200 locations across six Canadian provinces. The Rooke family started Panago in 1986.
Panago is a franchise business. This means that each Panago store is owned and run by a local business person, not directly by the main company. In 2015, Panago made over C$150 million in sales. That's a lot of pizza!
The Story of Panago Pizza
The first three Panago stores opened in 1986. They were in a city called Abbotsford, British Columbia. Back then, the stores had a very long name: "Panagopoulos 2 for 1 Pizza Place".
Over time, the name became shorter and easier to say. First, it was "Panagopoulos Pizza Place". Then it was just "Panagopoulos". Finally, in the year 2000, the name became "Panago".
Where Panago Operates
The main office for Panago is still in Abbotsford, British Columbia. There is also another office in Downtown Toronto.
In the late 2000s, Panago started to open many new stores. They focused on expanding in the province of Ontario. The first Panago store in downtown Toronto opened in April 2007.
