Panevėžys County is one of the ten main regions, called counties, in the country of Lithuania. It is located in the northern part of Lithuania. The biggest city and the main center of the county is Panevėžys.

Panevėžys County is a large area in Lithuania. It covers about 7,881 square kilometers. This means it makes up about 12.1% of the total land area of Lithuania. In 2016, around 231,063 people lived here.
The county is known for its beautiful nature and quiet towns. Even though it's a county, the way it is managed changed on July 1, 2010. The special county administration office was closed. Now, the different local areas, called municipalities, handle most of the day-to-day running of the region.
