The Pansy Methodist Church is a special old church located in Pansy, Clinton County, Ohio. It was built in 1885. This church was once home to a group of people who followed the Methodist faith.

Discovering the Pansy Church and School
The Pansy Methodist Church and its school were built in the late 1800s. The church was finished in 1885, and the school followed in 1900. These buildings show a mix of different architectural styles.
The Church's Design
The church building is about 28 feet wide and 46 feet long. It was built in the Gothic Revival style. This means it has features like three pointed, arch-shaped windows on each side.
People would enter the church through a large front door. This doorway also has a Gothic arch shape and a small window above it called a transom light. On top of the church's roof, at the front, there is a small tower. This tower holds a bell and is decorated with fancy crisscross patterns called latticework.
The School's Style
Near the church, the school building is about 29 feet wide and 40 feet long. It was built in the Romanesque Revival style. You can see this style in details like the flat, column-like shapes on the corners of the building, called pilasters. There is also decorative brickwork just below the roof.
Both the church and the school are made of brick. They sit on strong stone foundations. Both buildings also have roofs made of slate, which is a type of rock.

In 1973, the Pansy Methodist Church and School were recognized as a historic district. This means they are a special area with important old buildings. They were added to the National Register of Historic Places. This is a list of places in the United States that are important to history.
