The Pantages Tower is a tall building in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It's located on Victoria Street, close to the famous Ed Mirvish Theatre. This building is special because it's both a hotel and a place where people live in condominium apartments.
The hotel part is called the Pantages Hotel. Its main entrance is at 200 Victoria Street. The apartments, known as condos, are at 210 Victoria Street. The tower is 139.6 metres (about 458 feet) tall and has 45 floors. It was finished in 2003. The building was designed by Moshe Safdie and Core Architects Inc.
Building History
When the Pantages Tower was first planned, there were ideas for something different. The original plan included building a second theatre right next to the hotel. However, these plans changed. A company involved in the project, called Livent, faced financial difficulties. Because of these money problems, the idea for the second theatre was dropped. This led to the building we see today, which focuses on hotel rooms and residential apartments.
