Panther Valley, Missouri facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Panther Valley is a small, quiet place in southwest Webster County, Missouri. It's not a big city or town, but rather an "unincorporated community." This means it doesn't have its own local government like a city does.

Panther Valley is nestled in the beautiful Ozarks. You can find it along Missouri Route KK, right on the south side of Panther Creek. It's about four miles northwest of a town called Fordland.

History

Panther Valley has a bit of history! A post office was opened there in 1856. This was a very important place for people to send and receive mail back then. The post office served the community for many years, but it eventually closed down in 1888.

The community got its name from the nearby Panther Creek. The creek flows through a valley, and that's how "Panther Valley" got its name.
