Paper Boat is a popular brand from India. It makes traditional Indian drinks and snacks. The company that owns Paper Boat is called Hector Beverages, and its main office is in Bengaluru, India.
Paper Boat started in August 2014. It offers many classic Indian drinks like Aam Panna, Jaljeera, and Aam Ras. At first, these drinks came in small, flexible pouches. Now, you can also find them in bigger one-liter Tetra Pak cartons.

How Paper Boat Started
Hector Beverages, the company behind Paper Boat, was created in 2009. Four friends, Neeraj Kakkar, Neeraj Biyani, Suhas Misra, and James Nuttall, started it together.
Their first product was a protein drink called Frissia. After that, they launched an energy drink brand called Tzinga in 2011.
In March 2013, the company introduced Paper Boat. This new brand focused on drinks made from fruit pulp. They decided to focus on traditional Indian drinks.
Paper Boat first launched with Aam Panna and Jal Jeera. Later, they added more traditional drinks. These included Aam Ras, Chilled Rasam, Kokum, Jamun Kala Khatta, Chilli Guava, and Neer More.
In 2016, Paper Boat started selling bigger 500 ml Tetra Prisma Aseptic packs of Aam Ras and Anar. They stopped making the 500 ml packs in 2017. Instead, they launched their drinks in even larger 1-liter Tetra Prisma Aseptic cartons.
Paper Boat also started making traditional Indian snacks in 2016. Their first snack was the Indian sweet, peanut chikki.
What Paper Boat Makes

Paper Boat offers many different drinks. They have fruit-based traditional drinks and also milk-based drinks.
They even make two special drinks for Indian festivals. Panakam is available during Rama Navami. Sherbet-e-Khas is available during Eid. In 2018, the brand also launched Coconut Water.
In their one-liter Tetra Pack cartons, you can find many flavors. These include Aam Ras, Jamun, Anar, Apple, Guava, Mixed Fruit, Pineapple, Cranberry, Tomato, and Lychee Ras. The Aam Ras drink has a lot of mango pulp, about 45%. It is made from mangoes that ripen naturally.

Snacks
Peanut chikki was the first traditional Indian snack from Paper Boat. Paper Boat chikki is a Fair-Trade product. This means that everyone involved in making the chikki is treated and paid fairly. The company buys its peanuts directly from farmers near Rajkot in Gujarat. They pay a fair price for the peanuts.
Paper Boat chikki also comes in three other types: crushed peanut, sesame, and Rajgira peanut.

Where Paper Boat is Made
Hector Beverages has two factories where they make their products. One factory is in Mysuru, and the other is in Manesar, Gurgaon. Together, they can make ten million pouches every month.
The first factory was built in Manesar in 2010. A second, bigger factory opened in Mysuru, Karnataka in 2014. The Manesar factory can produce 80 bottles per minute. The Mysuru factory is much faster, making 380 bottles per minute.
How Paper Boat Connects with People
The name "Paper Boat" and the slogan "Drinks and Memories" are meant to remind people of their childhood. They want to bring back happy memories.
Paper Boat's TV ads use music from the famous Indian TV show Malgudi Days. The first ad campaign was written and told by the poet Gulzar. Later ads were written by Swanand Kirkire.
Besides TV ads, Paper Boat has also made short films. Some of these films include ‘Ride Down the River of Memories’, ‘Waiting for Ma’, and ‘Rizwan - Keeper of the Gates of Heaven’.
Paper Boat has even started publishing books! They have reprinted classic books like Three Men in a Boat and Jungle Book. These books were given away with their drinks in gift boxes. In 2017, they published Half Pants Full Pants by Anand Suspi. This book is a collection of real stories about growing up in Shimoga.
