Para-taekwondo is an exciting sport that's part of the Paralympic Games. It's a special version of taekwondo, which is a Korean martial art. This sport is for athletes who have different physical disabilities. It first became an official Paralympic sport at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan.
The main goal in Para-taekwondo is to compete in kyorugi, which means sparring or fighting. It's not about poomsae, which are like practiced forms or routines. World Taekwondo (WT) has been in charge of Para-taekwondo since 2006. They make sure the rules are fair and the sport is safe for everyone.
