Paraíso is a lovely town located in the Barahona Province, which is in the southwest part of the Dominican Republic. It's a small city that is surrounded by beautiful green mountains and clear rivers. These rivers flow all the way down to the amazing Caribbean Sea.
Two other towns, San Rafael and Los Patos, are located near Paraíso. Both of these towns have nice beaches and cool, fresh river water. This water comes straight from the top of the nearby mountains. The weather in Paraíso is tropical, meaning it's warm and sunny most of the time, with an average temperature of about 85°F (around 29°C). The name "Paraíso" actually means "Paradise" in both Spanish and Portuguese, which perfectly describes this beautiful place!
