The parish of Algalah is a special area of land in NSW, Australia. It's like a historical land division, not a town or city you might visit. Algalah is located about 367 km west-north-west from Sydney. It sits roughly halfway between the towns of Tottenham and Narromine. This area is part of the Narromine Shire, which is a local government area.
The land around Algalah is mostly used for farming. Important natural features here include the Bogan River and a wetland called Bullock Tank Swamp.
The name Algalah comes from the "Algalah Run" sheep station. A sheep station is a very large farm where sheep are raised. This station covered most of the Algalah area. It was started by a person named Robert John Walker. He is famous for moving a huge load of wool to the local railway station. He did this with just one Shire stallion, which is a very strong type of horse. This was thought to be a World Record at the time! Robert Walker's business partner, Andrew Taylor Kerr, started another sheep station nearby called "Deribong run." The neighbouring area, the parish of Deribong, is named after it.
