The city of Dubuque, Iowa has a fantastic system of parks. Because Dubuque has many hills and different land shapes, several parks offer amazing views of the city. These include Cleveland Park, Eagle Point Park, Madison Park, and Murphy Park.

Dubuque currently has 39 parks, 6 trails, 2 swimming pools, a golf course, an arboretum, a campground, and 3 other properties. In total, the city owns more than 1,060 acres (4.3 km2) of parks and recreation areas for everyone to use.

In recent years, Dubuque's park system has grown a lot. Many new small neighborhood parks and playgrounds have been built. All the older parks have also been updated since the mid-1990s. Right now, 8 parks are being developed. The city is also building a connected system of hike and bike trails. At first, these trails will link up fun places along the river, like those in the Port of Dubuque. Later, the system will reach into neighborhoods further out, including a trail in the Catfish Creek Valley.
