Parvin Ardalan facts for kids
Parvin Ardalan (born in Tehran in 1967) is a brave Iranian activist, writer, and journalist. She works hard to make sure women and men have equal rights in Iran. In 2007, she received the Olof Palme Prize for her important work. This award is given to people who fight for peace and human rights.

Making a Difference: Parvin Ardalan's Work
In the 1990s, Parvin Ardalan helped start the Women's Cultural Centre. This place became a hub for discussing and documenting women's issues in Iran. It helped people understand the challenges women faced.
Online Magazine for Women's Rights
Since 2005, Parvin Ardalan has been the editor of Iran's first online magazine about women's rights, called Zanestan. This magazine talks about important topics like marriage, education, and stopping violence against women. Even when faced with challenges, the magazine keeps finding ways to share its message.
Writing Books to Inspire Change
Parvin Ardalan also co-wrote a book with Noushin Ahmadi Khorasani. The book is about Iran's first female lawyer, Mehrangiz Manouchehrian. It's called "Senator: the Work of Senator Mehrangiz Manouchehrian in the Struggle for Legal Rights for Women." This book won an award in 2004.
The One Million Signatures Campaign
Parvin Ardalan is one of the people who started the One Million Signatures Campaign. The goal of this campaign is to collect one million signatures from people who support equal rights for women. As part of this campaign, she has joined peaceful protests. In 2007, she and Noushin Ahmadi Khorasani faced legal challenges because of their work for women's rights.
Living in Sweden
In 2012, Parvin Ardalan was granted permanent residency in Sweden. She had moved there three years earlier.
