The Pascagama River is a river in Quebec, Canada. It flows into Pascagama Lake. This river is found in the northwest part of Quebec. It passes through two main administrative regions:

  • Mauricie, specifically the western part of La Tuque.
  • Abitibi-Témiscamingue, in the eastern part of Senneterre.

The main activity in the area around the river is forestry, which means cutting down trees for wood. After that, tourism, like fishing or camping, is also important.

The river usually freezes over in early November. It stays frozen until the end of April. It's generally safe to walk or travel on the ice from early December to mid-April.

River's Journey: Where the Pascagama Flows

The Pascagama River starts at a place called Marceau Lake. This lake is about 4.5 kilometers long and sits at an altitude of 465 meters. The river then flows for about 82.5 kilometers until it reaches Pascagama Lake.

Starting Point: Marceau Lake

The source of the Pascagama River is Marceau Lake. This lake is located in Marceau Township. From here, the river begins its journey.

The River's Path

As the Pascagama River flows, it travels through different areas and townships. It starts by heading northwest, making a few turns. Then, it turns southwest, crossing an unnamed lake. The river continues its journey, passing through townships like Buteux, Lagacé, Coursol, and Juneau. Along its path, the river sometimes widens, creating larger sections of water.

End Point: Pascagama Lake

The Pascagama River finally empties into the northern part of Pascagama Lake. This lake is located in Deschamps Township. From this point, Pascagama Lake's water eventually flows into the Mégiscane River.
