Patricia Mayayo Bost (born in 1967) is a Spanish art historian, a professor, and a researcher. She studies the history of art, focusing on how women artists and different gender identities are shown in art. She also looks at modern art styles.

About Patricia Mayayo
Patricia Mayayo was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1967. She earned her Ph.D. in Art History from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). She also has a master's degree in Art History from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, USA.
From 1998 to 2006, she taught Art History at the European University of Madrid. Today, she is a full professor at UAM. She also helped manage the master's degree program in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture. This program is taught at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (MNCARS).
Mayayo has been part of important research projects. These projects looked at the art world in Spain from 1975 to 2005. She also directed courses about how gender is shown in art and movies. These courses were for different museums and art centers in Spain.
Her Work with Museums
Mayayo helped create a special tour for the permanent collection at MNCARS. This tour focuses on the visibility and role of women in art history. Marian Lopez Fernandez-Cao wrote this tour, and it was first shown in 2009.
In 2009, Mayayo was one of the people who started the Asociación de Mujeres en las Artes Visuales. This group supports women in visual arts. She was also a member of its board of directors.
Curating Art Exhibitions
From 2012 to 2013, Mayayo worked with Juan Vicente Aliaga to organize an art show. The exhibition was called "Feminist genealogies in Spanish art 1960-2010". It was held at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León in León, Spain.
Many famous artists took part in this show. These included Eva Lootz, Marisa Gonzalez, Paloma Navares, Esther Ferrer, Carmen Calvo, Carmela García , Paz Muro , and Marina Núñez. The exhibition explored how feminist ideas influenced Spanish art from the 1960s to 2010.
