Patrick Husbands (born May 22, 1973) is a famous jockey from Barbados. He rides Thoroughbred horses in races. Patrick grew up around horses because his dad was also a jockey. He started riding horses when he was very young.

He became a professional jockey in Barbados. He was very successful there. In 1990, when he was just 16 years old, he won the important Barbados Gold Cup race with his horse, Vardar. This made him the youngest jockey ever to win that race. In 1994, he moved to Toronto, Ontario, in Canada, to continue his racing career.

Patrick Husbands: A Racing Star

Patrick Husbands became a big name in horse racing at Woodbine Racetrack in Canada. He is known for his skill and many wins.

Winning the Canadian Triple Crown

One of his biggest achievements was in 2003. He won the Canadian Triple Crown with a horse named Wando. This means they won three very important races in Canada: the King's Plate, the Prince of Wales Stakes, and the Breeders' Stakes. Winning all three in one year is a huge deal in horse racing!

Other Major Race Wins

Patrick has won many other important races. In 2001, he rode Numerous Times to win the $1 million Woodbine Mile race. That same year, he won the Metropolitan Handicap in New York with a horse called Exciting Story. He also had great success with Arch Hall, winning the Sir Barton Stakes three times in a row from 2004 to 2006. In 2007, he was the main rider for Sealy Hill, who was named the best Canadian horse that year.

Career Milestones
