Patsch is a small village, also known as a municipality, located in the Innsbruck-Land District in the country of Austria. It is found in the state of Tyrol. Patsch is about 6.7 kilometers (around 4 miles) south of the larger city of Innsbruck. It sits at the bottom of a famous mountain called the Patscherkofel.
Patsch is one of the oldest villages in this southern mountain area. It is close to the capital city of Innsbruck. People first wrote about Patsch around the year 1200. Back then, its name was sometimes spelled "Patsche" or "Pats".

The number of people living in Patsch has changed over many years. In 1869, there were 538 residents. The population went down a bit in the late 1800s.
However, it started to grow again in the 1900s. By 1951, Patsch had 620 people. The population has generally increased since then. In 2011, there were 1,013 people living in Patsch. This shows that more and more people have chosen to make Patsch their home over time.
