Patti Clare's Acting Journey
Patti Clare was born in Manchester, England. Before becoming a TV star, she acted a lot in plays. She performed in many different theatre shows. For example, she was in a play called Blithe Spirit in Glasgow. She also acted in a play based on the book David Copperfield.
Moving to Television
Patti loved acting on stage. But she also wanted to act on television. To reach this goal, she was advised to focus on TV roles. This meant she had to turn down some theatre work.
In September 2008, Patti was working as a receptionist. Then, she got a big chance! She was offered the part of Mary Taylor. This role was in the popular TV show Coronation Street. Her first time on the show was on November 26, 2008. The character of Mary was only supposed to be in five episodes at first.
Becoming a Regular on Coronation Street
After her first few appearances, Patti was offered a new contract. She returned to Coronation Street in January 2010. Before and between her times as Mary, she had other small TV roles. She appeared in shows like Young Dracula and Torchwood. She also had parts in Casualty 1909 and Doctors.
While playing Mary on Coronation Street, Patti also acted in a spin-off film. It was called Coronation Street: A Knight's Tale. This film was released directly to DVD in 2010.
