Paula Lambert is an Irish puppeteer. She is most famous for being the puppeteer and voice of Bosco, a beloved Irish TV character. She was also a member of the Lambert Puppet Theatre in Monkstown, County Dublin.
About Paula Lambert
Paula Lambert grew up in a family of puppeteers. Her parents, Eugene and Mai Lambert, were also famous puppeteers. Paula was the youngest of their ten children.
From a young age, Paula started working with puppets. She joined her family's business, the Lambert Puppet Theatre, which began in 1972. She also worked on their first TV show, Wanderly Wagon.
Early TV Roles
On Wanderly Wagon, Paula helped bring some fun characters to life. She was one of the tiny mice who lived in the wallpaper. Later, she played one of the squirrels living in the loft. She also appeared in a spin-off show called Fortycoats & Co., where she was the puppeteer for Spooky the Cat.
Becoming Bosco
In 1981, Paula took over a very special role. She became the puppeteer and voice for Bosco, a popular character on Irish television. Bosco quickly became a favorite for many children.
Even after the TV show ended, Paula continued to bring Bosco to life. She tours all over Ireland with the Paula Lambert Puppet Theatre. In 2019, she celebrated 40 years of touring with Bosco, bringing joy to new generations of kids.
Family and Puppetry
Paula has a son named Johnny. He has followed in his mother's footsteps. Johnny is now a third-generation puppeteer, working with the Paula Lambert Puppet Theatre. This means the love for puppetry continues in their family!
