Paula McGee, born on December 1, 1962, is an American who has been a basketball star, a preacher, a writer, and an inspirational speaker. She is famous for her amazing basketball skills. Paula played college basketball for the University of Southern California (USC). There, she helped her team win the top college championship, the NCAA Championship, not once, but twice! They won in both 1983 and 1984.
Paula also has a twin sister, Pamela McGee, who was also a fantastic basketball player. Pamela even won an Olympic gold medal and played in the WNBA.
Paula's College Basketball Journey
Paula McGee started playing for USC in 1980. Right from her first year, she showed how talented she was. As a freshman, she scored an average of 20.0 points and grabbed 9.0 rebounds in each game. This means she was great at both scoring and getting the ball back for her team.
Her skills earned her many honors:
- In 1982, she was named a WBCA All-American.
- In 1983, she became a Kodak All-American.
- She was part of the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team in both 1983 and 1984.
- For four years in a row (1981-1984), she was named to the WCAA First Team All-Conference. This shows she was consistently one of the best players in her college league.
Playing Basketball Professionally
After her successful college career, Paula McGee began playing basketball professionally in 1984. She and her twin sister, Pamela, even played on the same team for a short time. They both joined the Dallas Diamonds in the Women's American Basketball Association.
Paula continued to play professional basketball for several years. Her career lasted until 1992, showing her dedication and love for the sport.
