Paulino de la Fuente Gómez, known simply as Paulino, is a Spanish professional footballer. He was born on June 27, 1997. Paulino plays as a winger for the Segunda División club Real Oviedo.

Paulino's Football Journey

Paulino was born in Santander, a city in Cantabria, Spain. He started playing football at a young age. When he was six, he joined a team called AD Pandas.

Early Career and Youth Teams

After playing for Pandas, Paulino moved to other youth clubs. He played for Club Bansander twice and also for Racing de Santander. In 2013, when he was 16, he moved to Italy. He joined the youth team of the famous club Inter Milan.

In February 2016, Paulino came back to Spain. He signed a contract with Atlético Madrid for two and a half years. He was placed in their top youth team, called Juvenil A. Later that year, in July, he joined Deportivo Alavés. He started playing for their reserve team, Alavés B, which was in the Tercera División.

Senior Debut and Promotions

Paulino played his first senior game on August 28, 2016. He came on as a substitute for the last 29 minutes. His team, Alavés B, won the game 4–0 against Santutxu FC. On December 8, he scored his first goal for the team.

Paulino became a regular player for Alavés B. In September 2018, he extended his contract until 2021. During the 2018–19 season, he scored five goals in 24 games. His team was promoted to a higher league, the Segunda División B.

Playing in La Liga and Other Clubs

On June 21, 2020, Paulino made his debut for the main Alavés team. This was also his first game in La Liga, Spain's top football league. He came on as a substitute in a match against RC Celta de Vigo.

In September 2020, Paulino signed a one-year contract with UD Logroñés. This club had just been promoted to the Segunda División. After Logroñés was relegated in 2021, Paulino moved to Málaga CF. He signed a two-year deal with them in July 2021.

Moving to Mexico and Returning Home

In June 2022, Paulino left Málaga. He paid his release clause to leave the club. Just a few hours later, he joined Liga MX side Pachuca in Mexico.

In July 2023, Paulino returned to Spain. He joined Real Oviedo in the second division on a one-year loan. A loan means he played for Oviedo for a set time, but his main club was still Pachuca. In July 2024, he signed a permanent two-year contract with Real Oviedo. This means he is now officially a player for Oviedo.

Football Achievements

Paulino has won one major trophy in his career so far.

  • Pachuca
    • Liga MX: Apertura 2022 (This is a championship in the Mexican football league)
