Military Ranks

Other Important Terms

  • (w) = Wounded: The soldier was hurt during the fight.
  • (mw) = Mortally wounded: The soldier was hurt so badly they later died.
  • (k) = Killed: The soldier died during the battle.
  • (c) = Captured: The soldier was taken prisoner by the enemy.

The Confederate Army of Tennessee

The main Confederate army fighting at Peachtree Creek was the Army of Tennessee. It was led by Gen John B. Hood.
