Peachtree Summit is a tall building, also known as a skyscraper, located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. It stands about 125 meters (or 410 feet) high and has 31 floors. This building was finished in 1975. It has a very interesting shape, like a triangle! This unique design was necessary because of the unusual shape of the land it was built on. The building lot is surrounded by busy roads: the Downtown Connector, West Peachtree Street, and Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard.

A Unique Design

Peachtree Summit stands out because of its special triangle shape. Imagine trying to fit a square building into a triangle-shaped space – it wouldn't work! So, the architects designed the building to perfectly fit the land. This land is squeezed between major roads in Atlanta.

Building for the Future

When Peachtree Summit was built, the city was also working on its public transportation system, called MARTA. The building was designed with a special three-story lobby. This was to make sure it connected well with West Peachtree Street, which was raised higher in the late 1970s for the new MARTA train lines.

Connecting to the City

One cool feature of Peachtree Summit is its direct connection to the Civic Center MARTA station. This means people working or visiting the building can easily get to and from the train. It makes commuting much simpler!

A Vision for Atlanta

Peachtree Summit was originally planned to be the first of three similar buildings in the area. However, only this one was ever built. It remains a distinctive part of the Atlanta skyline.
