Peaster is a small community in Parker County, Texas, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's a place where people live together but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Peaster is located about nine miles (14 km) northwest of Weatherford, another town in Texas.

How Peaster Started

Peaster began to form in the 1870s. A man from Georgia named H.H. Peaster bought 160 acres (about 65 hectares) of land and built his home there. The community that grew around his house was first called Freemont.

In 1885, the name was changed to Peasterville, honoring H.H. Peaster. For many years, Peaster was a central place for local farmers, offering a school and a church. In the mid-1920s, about 300 people lived in the community. However, the population dropped a lot after the Great Depression, a time when many people faced economic hardship. From 1975 to 1990, only about 80 people lived in Peaster. Today, it's estimated that around 100 people call Peaster home.
