Pedro Antón Serra (born in 1585, died in 1632) was an important leader in the Catholic Church. He served as a bishop in the city of Lérida, Spain, from 1621 until his death in 1632.
Pedro Antón Serra's Life
Pedro Antón Serra was born in 1585 in a city called Zaragoza, which is in Spain.
In 1621, when Pope Gregory XV was the leader of the Catholic Church, Pedro Antón Serra was chosen to become the Bishop of Lérida. This was a very important role.
A few months later, on August 1, 1621, he was officially made a bishop. This special ceremony is called a consecration. It was performed by Andrés Balaguer Salvador, who was the Bishop of Orihuela. Two other bishops, Miguel Angulo Gómez de Carvajal and Tomás Espinosa, also helped with the ceremony.
Pedro Antón Serra continued to serve as the Bishop of Lérida for about eleven years. He passed away on February 17, 1632.
