History of Peebles
The village of Peebles was started in 1881. This happened because a railroad was being built through the area. The village was named after John G. Peebles. He was very important in helping to bring the railroad to the settlement. This railroad was first known as the Cincinnati & Eastern Railroad. Today, it is called the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad.
