Pembrey Country Park facts for kids
Pembrey Country Park is a super fun place to visit on the coast of South Wales. It's a huge park located near the village of Pembrey and the town of Llanelli in Carmarthenshire.
This amazing park covers about 500 acres of land. Its southern edge has the beautiful Cefn Sidan beach, which is about 8 miles long! Pembrey Country Park has lots of exciting things to do. You can find ski slopes, cool adventure play areas, a miniature railway, and awesome mountain bike trails.
The land where the park is now used to be a busy industrial area in the 1900s. You can still see old railway lines, and even some World War II bunkers and small forts called pillboxes.
In 2018, the park was the starting point for the 2018 Tour of Britain cycle race. This big event featured famous cyclists like Geraint Thomas and Chris Froome, who are champions from the Tour de France!

Beach Break Live Festival
From 2010, Pembrey Country Park became home to a music festival called Beach Break Live. This festival was mostly for students.
- How it Started: The festival was created by two business people. They got help and money from Peter Jones, a famous investor from the TV show Dragons' Den.
- First Event: About 12,500 students came to the first Beach Break Live festival at Pembrey Country Park in 2010. It was a huge success!
