The Penguin (whose real name is Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot) is a made-up character from DC Comics. He is one of Batman's main enemies in the American comic books. The Penguin first appeared in Detective Comics #58 in December 1941. He was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. He is known as one of Batman's oldest and most famous villains.
The Penguin is a mobster in Gotham City who calls himself the "Gentleman of Crime." He often wears a fancy suit, a top hat, and a monocle. He also carries an umbrella, which he uses as a special tool or weapon. The character is usually shown as a short, somewhat round man with a long nose.
