The Pensacola MESS Hall is a fun, hands-on science museum located in downtown Pensacola, Florida. It was started in 2012 by Megan Pratt and Jerry Pratt. This museum is a great place to explore science through exciting activities and experiments.

Explore and Discover

At the MESS Hall, you can find special "mess kits." These kits are like mini science labs! They have all the materials you need to try out different science ideas. You can explore a concept on your own, making discoveries as you go.

The museum also offers many individual science activities. These activities let you get hands-on with science. You can learn about different topics by doing experiments yourself. It's a great way to see how science works in the real world.

Camps and Workshops

The MESS Hall has exciting classes and camps, especially during the summer. These camps are so popular that they won the "Best of the Bay" award from the Pensacola News Journal in 2016! They are a fantastic way to dive deeper into science topics.

Throughout the year, the MESS Hall also holds different workshops. These workshops let you explore science in more detail. You might learn about fossils or even try some cool kitchen chemistry experiments.

Science for Everyone

The MESS Hall wants to share science with as many people as possible. In 2014, they started a special program called MESS Hall Express. This program takes science activities out into the community. It helps more kids experience the fun of hands-on learning.

In 2016, these outreach programs grew even more. With support from Disney, the MESS Hall visited a local school. They held "Tinker-Explore-Create" workshops there five times during the school year. This helped students get creative with science.

Another program, supported by GlaxoSmithKline, brought "Science in the Summer" to local libraries and community centers. This meant even more kids could enjoy science activities right in their own neighborhoods.

Supporting the MESS Hall

The MESS Hall is a non-profit organization. This means it uses any money it earns to help the museum grow and offer more programs. It relies on donations to help cover its costs.

To help raise money, the MESS Hall holds a special event each year. It's called the "MESS Hall Goes Gourmet" gala. This event is a fundraiser that helps support all the amazing science programs the museum offers. It gets a lot of help from Gulf Power.
