José Manuel "Pepe" Aguilar González (born on January 28, 1970) is a Spanish former footballer. He played as a left winger. Today, he is a football coach for FC Cartagena B.

Pepe Aguilar's Football Journey
Early Life and Youth Career
Pepe Aguilar was born in Madrid, Spain. He grew up in Santander, a city in Cantabria. He started his football journey at Racing de Santander as a young player.
Starting as a Professional Player
Aguilar began playing for Racing Santander's reserve team, Rayo Cantabria. He then joined the main team during the 1990–91 season. His team was promoted from the third division (Segunda División B) that year.
He made his first professional appearance on September 15, 1991. This was in a second division (Segunda División) match. In January 1994, he went on loan to Racing de Ferrol, another third division team.
Playing for Different Teams
After his loan, Aguilar played for several other third division teams. These included CP Cacereño, Recreativo de Huelva, Cádiz CF, and Granada CF.
In 1999, he returned to the second division with CP Mérida. In January 2000, he moved to Real Murcia. He scored an important goal on June 25, 2000. This goal helped Murcia get promoted to the second division.
In 2002, Aguilar joined Ciudad de Murcia, a nearby team in the third division. He helped them get promoted in his first season. In 2005, he played for Lorca Deportiva CF in the second division.
Later Career and Retirement
Aguilar left Lorca in 2006. He then played for CD La Unión and CA Ciudad de Lorquí in the fourth division (Tercera División). He helped Ciudad de Lorquí get promoted to the third division.
In September 2008, Pepe Aguilar retired from playing football. He was 38 years old.
Pepe Aguilar's Coaching Career
Starting as an Assistant Coach
In 2009, Aguilar began his coaching career. He became an assistant coach for Sangonera Atlético CF in the third division. In January 2011, he joined CD Leganés as an assistant coach. He stayed there for about a month.
Coaching Youth Teams
In July 2011, Aguilar became the manager of Club Atlético Perines' youth team. He also worked for the Cantabrian Football Federation. In July 2014, he returned to his old club, Racing Santander. He coached their youth team there.
In 2017, Aguilar took charge of Racing Santander's top youth squad.
Coaching Senior Teams
On July 31, 2020, he was appointed manager of FC Cartagena's reserve team, FC Cartagena B. This team played in the fourth division.
On December 18, 2020, Aguilar became the temporary manager for FC Cartagena's main team. This happened after the previous manager was dismissed. A few days later, the club announced he would continue as the main team's manager.
On January 11, 2021, Aguilar returned to coach the B-team. He had managed the main squad for three matches. He continues to coach FC Cartagena B today.
