How the Comic is Supported
David Revoy wants to change how comic books are made. He wants to make it easier for artists to share their work directly with fans. Pepper&Carrot is free for everyone to read. But David lets people support him through a website called Patreon. Patreon is a crowdfunding platform. This means many people can give a small amount of money to help support a creator.
If you sign up on Patreon, you can choose to give a small amount of money each time a new episode comes out. Patreon takes a small fee (about 5%) from the money. Credit card companies also take a small part. Even with these fees, it's still less than what traditional comic book companies take. In the old way, publishers, distributors, and stores all take a cut. This new way helps David Revoy focus on creating more comics for everyone to enjoy.
